Sad last day of yellow, I’m gonna miss it! It’s such an introspective color, so bright, so centering, it was what I needed this month. I learned a lot about this color and I’m happy to have given it 31 days of contemplation! I even wore yellow at home, since I wasn’t going out till my New Years Eve show.

I know New Years Eve is about resolutions and new beginnings, it’s funny because I started my new year August 1st, since my birthday is July 31. I guess this is like my midterms, time to contemplate how it’s been for the past 4 months the past 153 days, what has this project been doing for me and other people?

I definitely have inspired people, which is always my goal as an artist, what good is something if there is no inspiration? I’m collaborating, I’m learning what each individual color means to me and to other people. For example people love yellow, but think they can’t wear it! I’m dreaming in color, which was never the case, I’ve always dreamed in emotion. I think mainly this project is a catalyst to get my life on the road, to follow my dreams to make my passion my life work and do what brings me joy every day!

Speaking of collaboration today I created a costume for Animal Crackers because I knew they were performing without me at Superfine, our colors for the act are purple, gold, green and orange!

New Years Eve was a marathon of fun, I was with the people that I love the most. Dr. Lukki, Little Brooklyn, Noah, Nasty Canasta, Jonny Porkpie, Trixie Little, Evil Hate Monkey, Albert Cadabra, Gal Friday and Miss Saturn. What a blast! It was SO crowded at Galapgos that it took 15 minutes to go to the bathroom! There was a line around the block to get in, my buddy Jessie came, waited in line and left, I don’t blame her, I’m not one for lines! We did a couple of acts then we toasted to the new year! The audience had a ton of fun!

I did a quick “Gay” set, where I did my “Rainbow Connection” act, Brooklyn did her “Richard Simmons” act, Nasty did “Unknown Stripper” and Trixie and Monkey did “Total Eclipse” it was short and sweet and I hope that I can bring that same energy to hosting next time I do, good learning experience!

Leaving backstage was intense, with the whole venue PACKED with drunk people and pounding base, it made me wish that Galapagos had a back door we could have escaped from! I went home and crashed, my aching bones ready for the new year!

Yellow is almost over and I’m sad to see it go, at first I couldn’t wait for yellow to be over, there were such deep, tough life things happening, but now I know that was the yellow doing it’s magic! I wouldn’t have had it any other way! I think I’m definately gaining a new love for each color! Yes!

I spent today in front of the computer, working on my blog . . .it looked something like this!

Then I went to help my new Eccentric Dance troupe “The Animal Crackers” prep for new years eve. I’m not actually in their show, because I was already booked and the stage is too small for four dancers, but it was good to get my directing chops on and give feedback!

Tomorrow is New Years Eve and I’m excited to be with my nearest and dearest buddies at Galapagos Art Space Burlesque-o-teque!!

It was a little hard to get up this morning after a late night and an early rise, work was nuts, very busy. . . shop, shop, shopping! We’re having a sale till the 1st! I wrote about it here and some of my favorite yellow sex toys!!

After work I put on a nice dress and went to the CSV cultural center to see Ce Duckie a British performance peice that is more like a performance art party, just lovely! Gabrielle invited all of her friends to see the show, she does video for PS 122 and brought half the audience just for her and Kat’s birthday!

I really enjoyed the show, because it takes performance art, puts it in a really nice package and makes it short and sweet! Here is a little teaser of C’est Duckie and you can buy tickets here

So I arrive and they sweep us into this lovely space with large tables I sit down with Gabrielle, since it’s her birthday! The Champagne flowed!

The way the show works is you get what they call “Duckie dollars” and you can spend them on different acts that come to your table. Well Allison brought her own Duckie Credit Card!

Then Nicole and Allison did the traditional birthday face licking, it’s very common on the Lower East Side! Though Allison thought it was my birthday!

I had a lovely time at work today, it was busy but everyone was in a cheerful mood, holidays can sometimes do that to people!

I was on my way to feed the cats before I went home, Scott and Tigger’s flight was canceled and delayed, uh, not so pleasant for them! Anyway I got a phone call from Miss Tickle and she had an unexpected mole removal on her foot, ouch! Well, she needed some one to cover for her at the Slipper Room, so I said yes.

On my way to Tiggers I saw this really fucking cool yellow/rainbow bike!

I was with my favorite gals! Pinkie Special, Dr Lukki, host Mel Frye and a new comer Rita Men Weep. The crowd left some to be desired, but we had a good time!

So I was at work today, went home to Tigger and Scotts, fed the cats, started reading “Naked” by David Sedaris, also a very personal book! Then Gabrielle came over, boots covered in mud.

She had some business down by the river . . .at first I thought oh, a drug deal, duh, but Gab’s not that type of gal, so the next best thing? Ahah! A Ceremony! Yes she was giving yellow/gold offerings to the goddess Oshun! Oshun is the Santeria Orisha(goddess) of Love and Marrage, Money, Seduction, and is the archetype of joy and pleasure! Hey not bad? There was no direct way for Gabrielle to get to the river so she had to break through a fence that was, yes you guessed it, tied together with some yellow twine! In Haiti they make offerings to Ochun on Tuesdays and thursdays, it being a Thursday it only seemed fitting for her to do it! We went to eat at Mama’s food shop and she told me about her friend Asia who really changed his life by the power of positive manifestation, he found inspiration from The Secret It’s only fitting that we were having this conversation during the yellow month as yellow is all about personal growth, ego, and personal power! Definately a very inspiring evening, did help that we went to this lovely cafe that only serves chocolate and wine, yum, talk about pleasure and joy!

Earlier in the day I took some banana phone pictures . . .Ochun would have enjoyed the pleasure and joy I took from these pictures in Scott and Tigger’s yellow kitchen!

On my walk (in the rain) home(temporary home at Tigger and Scotts) I stopped to say hello to Scarlet at AP. She’s lovely and I don’t get to see enough of her. I talked to Alotta Boute and she’s going to be here New Years Day! She’s a delightful person and I feel proud to call her a friend! I also went to say hello to John who works at a movie theater on Houston he also is wonderful, and I should hang out with him more!

It’s very funny, I didn’t really feel like the color yellow has been affecting me, because I’ve been thinking so much about the rest of my life and growth and change that I didn’t see that Yellow actually really charges those emotions! Yellow is really about Self Esteem and gut Instint which is what I’ve been relying on so much lately! So yellow really IS affecting me, I just didn’t realize it because I’ve been wraped up in myself, my gut, my insides, just getting my center and figuring out what the next step in my life is. Yellow is the color of personal power, so yes, it’s affecting me!

Here’s what I found about the Third Chakra which is Yellow, it’s from about.com.

Chakra Three - Exploring the Major Chakrashe Solar Plexus Chakra is associated with the color yellow. This is the area which defines our “self-esteem”. The personality that develops during puberty is housed in this chakra….otherwise known as the “EGO”.

Anyone experiencing dysfunction of the third chakra is having difficulty obtaining or maintaining his/her own “personal power”. This intuitive chakra is where we get our “gut instincts” that signal us to do or not to do something. Strong self-esteem is a required for developing intuitive skills.

Scotty sent me an email today from Sweden he said he’d had some pains in his back and is Swedish Chiropractor suggested he needed more yellow in his life! Here’s what he wrote me!

“well, it all started with the PINCHED NERVE in my neck. I asked the chiropractor in sweden - who I was seeing weekly - exactly what the problem was. she said it was the C6 vertebra of my neck (cervical spine). So, I took C6 out for some ice-cream, and then got on the internet, and started doing my research.

Cervial spine is throat chakra - healing color is blue, healing flower - blue morning glory.so I went through a little phase of blue - but you know, I’m familiar with that one - I also had pain in my shoulder, and a terrible soft tissue “knocking” under my left shoulder blade. so I specifically looked up “Shoulder Blade Chakra”,

“this is the Angel-chakra, the centre that governs the angel-wings that enable spiritual travel and also protect the traveller [Mantak Chia, Awaken Healing Light, p.210]. This symbolic reference to wings and to spiritual flight links also to the Egyptian representation of the Ba or Soul as a human-headed bird, as well as winged deities such as Isis and Maat, and to the symbolic association in both Tantra and Kabbalah of the Anahata or Tifaret (respectively) with the element Air.”

Anyway - I supposed I should log my research from now on, but I just read some of the websites like these below, stood up from the computer and proclaimed _ I’M YELLOW DEPRIVED and that was it. of course, the first thing wearing all yellow did for me was give me a sense of control. I could get active about my problem (which still persists - I go for exray tomorrow - and skydiving monday!!!!). But I also threw out all of my black clothing - THREW IT OUT!!! and would only wear a mish mash of colors. NO BLACK CLOTHING!!!!!!”

With a full days sleep under my belt, I awoke this morning with a fantastic energy. I’m happy the fever broke and I felt great!

I cleaned house and went on my merry way to Scott and Tigger’s house to prep for some guests. On my way down Clinton street I saw Gabrielle who is still burning her yellow candles! I offered her some of the Chinese pastries I had just purchased for the party, yum!

I showed up and the cats were sooo cute, they actually remembered me(or remembered that I’m also the kind of person who feeds and pets them?)

Huckleberry and Finnegan . . .

Then Pinkie came over and we made 7 layer dip and deviled eggs, and watched the South Park Christmas special collection.

Then Wren came over with Italian pastries galore! Then Eric came over with pastries from Junior’s and we waited 40 minutes for A TON of some pretty bad Chinese food! Then my cousin Yaacov came over to help us eat it. We did have Chinese food which is the classic /American/Jewish thing to do on a Lovely Christmas day! Oh, yes and also to eat TONS of pastries! Oh and watch the hilarious Strangers With Candy, where Jerri Blank gets abducted by a cult that wears ALL YELLOW! Wow!

It’s Christmas Eve, everyone in my house is gone except for Ethan who is also Jewish, I’m still sick, but I have to go to work, because everyone is sick at work. Sean, Kathi, and Me. We’re the only ones besides Mary, Fran and Jamye that are available to work right now! Everyone has left town. So I arrive at work, sick, sick, and Kathi’s on her way out sick, sick. But once Fran and Mary i head out, back home to bed.

But not before I take this glamor shot of what I wore to work! I guess this is what I’ll look like when I’m 80 years old, man I certainly felt that way!

Oh, I woke up took the computer into bed and posted this on some people’s myspace page!

My only day off, and I spent most of it in bed. I was suppose to go to Scott and Tiggers to house sit, so I did some room cleaning and laundry, but mainly I spent the day in bed, with tea bags on my eyes since I was feeling feverish, it helped to cool the fever, also it was out of vanity so I didn’t have puffy eyes, and the tea bags were chamomile so they were yellow!

I also drank lots of lemon juice and paprika(for cleansing?)

I had just finished my laundry and was about to pack a bag to go to Scott and Tigger’s when I got a phone call from Scott, his flight to Chicago hadn’t left yet, and he wasn’t able to get a flight out untill Christmas day at 6:45 am!!! So he was still at the airport and on his way home! It was a bummer for him, but I was actually ok with that since I was still sick. So I went back to bed.
