Today I was delighted to receive a text message with this photo from my cousin, yes it’s the first baby on my fathers side in my generation! He’s a rainbow baby, with no name just yet!

RAINBOW JULY: DAY 358 “Rainbow Crackers”

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

July 20, 2008

I had a lovely brunch with my cousin and web master of the Year in Rainbow, and I realized that somewhere I went wrong with the counting. That today there should be 11 days left in the year in rainbow, but I have “day 358″ written down, so I know I gotta go back and fix it! Well then! It was a lovely brunch, and then I went for a lovely date ice cream, yeah that’s nice! There was rainbow ice cream, I wanted to eat it, but the coconut called my name!

I met up with Amy Animal and we rode our bikes to rehearsals. We finished the choreography for the new act Debuting at The Year in Rainbow Finale yep it’s Super Dance meets the Rainbowettes and it’s eccentric dance meets superheros rainbows dancing and doing the D.A.N.C.E!! I’m so excited!!!

We went to eat at Kates joint, I like being a vegetarian, it makes me feel good! I rode home in my new dress, perfect for this hot weather we’ve been having!

RAINBOW JULY: DAY 357 “Rainbow Hardy Dardy”

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

July 19, 2008

What fun! I worked on the video for the Year in Rainbow Finale and that involved some voice overs which involved silence so that ment I had to close the doors and windows and turn off the fan in my room, so basically it was a recording studio/sauna! I got through the intro and most of red, so it’s all coming together, this year has gone by SO FAST!

It was so hot today I had to make a dress out of the thinnest fabric I could find in rainbow and I just happened to have a light cotton polyester blend and I made a dress! I do love having my machine back!! I went to Diana Cage’s birthday party on a bushwik rooftop, how fun! Then I rode home, packed my bags and went to perform at the Hardy Dardy(notice the rainbow logo on this web site!) show at Dixon Place, I went to see Hardy Dardy and Glenn Marla and Trina Rose and Erin Markey on August 1, 2007, almost a year ago! It was the first day of the year in rainbow, it was funny to have been there in the audience a year ago and today I was on the stage, well Hardy Dardy’s simulated back yard!

After Hardy Dardy, I went to perform in the LAST Bush bash at BadAss Burlesque what an amazing feeling! I’m also curious as to weather or not I can do that act again after he is out of office, what do you think? Comments appreciated!

Friday, July 18th, 2008

July 18, 2008

Again I joined Starshine Burlesque but this time at Coney Island, and it was a vacation theme. All I could think about was rainbow drinks and low and behold Bambi the Mermaid’s Tiki number! Wonderful!

Creamy Stevens did her death of a clown act and the clown is rainbow be-wigged clown, I love that act!!

I did my sunburnt act

RAINBOW JULY: DAY 355 “Rainbow Yarn”

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

July 17, 2008

I was riding to work today and this gal yelled after me “your outfit is the shit! I could totally rock that!” I was so excited to hear that, maybe other people will start wearing rainbows every day? I personally wish that I and the gays weren’t the only ones wearing rainbow!

10 days left and I’m deep into week of performing every day, today I decided to do my “rainbow yarn” act to Astrud Gilberto’s “Look to the rainbow” at Starshine Burlesque. I talked to Flap the clown about eccentric dance, she knew what it was! I told Harvest about the name “Porn Cracker” she loved it!

I wasn’t the only one exhausted, boy were we all tired by the end of the night!

RAINBOW JULY: DAY 354 “Rainbow Gay Art”

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

July 16, 2008

Dirty called me yesterday and asked if I wanted to go to this art opening where “Epiphany was giving birth to herself?” I said yes, because I adore Dirty and would love to see Epiphany give birth to herself! Well it was a lovely opening, Epiphany giving birth to herself was fantastic, and stole the show, but what stole my show was a lovely painting of Scotty the Blue Bunny in nothing but black heels and a black and ostrich feather boa! This painting made him look latino, I loved it, made me excited that I’m going to get to see him in a week and a half! I also had a lovely time chatting with Karl Giant who really is the best make-up artist I know! Also one hell of a sweet guy!

Dirty and I went with the rest of the gays to Lucky Strike where I had a yummy vegi burger, I”m thinking of going veggie, because even when I eat “unhealthy” veggie food it doesn’t mess with my digestion as much? Anyway I zoomed over to the Slipper Room for the Wenesday night show and it was with suprise guests the Wet Spots! Hurray! They have a show coming up soon, July 27, too bad I’m not it town they are not only fantastic performers, but lovely people!

It sure was a fun show and Pinkie and Amber showed up to say hello and that was lovely!
Here I am rain bowing out late night!

RAINBOW JULY: DAY 353 “Rainbow Yellow Beach Umbrella Spirit Animal”

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

July 15, 2008
I woke up early and went to the studio to rehearse with a big new yellow beach umbrella prop, which broke, but I did get to move with it for a little while to see what it’s like, it’s huge!

Then I went to pick up my sewing machine, and on the way gabbed with Jo Boobs, Juno is going to be in the Cereal show at Coney Island in a Month!

I got a ton of sequins at Gizmo which is where I had my machine repaired. I walked it back to LES and dropped it off at work, well former work. I can pick it up tomorrow when I’m not going to take my bike home from the Slipper Room. That machine is too heavy to bike with!

I came home cleaned up a little, worked on projects and then got ready for the Team Spirit Animal Squad, Tanya Gange’s show. How wonderful! A true happening, just really meaningful and spiritual. Harvest Moon joined us and she’s now Harvest Cracker, but she kinda looked like “Porn Cracker” she’s definitely very sexy and overly feminine in her Cracker garb! Well we love having her as an alternate Cracker and she’ll join us at our Coney Island show August 22! Tanya wore these beautiful rainbow wings! Wow! I have a picture from March . . .
T-Bird and her feathers!

Here I am all sweaty from riding home on my bike!

RAINBOW JULY: DAY 352 “Rainbow makeup”

Monday, July 14th, 2008

July 14, 2008

Do you think it’s possible to get addicted to internet dating? I spent the morning answering questions on this one site that is free, it’s just been this huge distraction!

I did some laundry and Rebecca came over for dinner and I taught her how to do make-up, how I do it, as prep for the workshop I am teaching in Mendocino, I learned a lot how to teach.

Then I rode my bike to Public Assembly for the new Monday Night Burlesque and it was a joy to share the stage with Anita,Nasty, Gigi, Jonny and Rosebud. They are doing some really great stuff at Monday night burlesque and I’m happy to be a part of it! And Galapagos looks AMAZING!

RAINBOW JULY: DAY 351 “Darlinda es un Arcoiris “

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

July, 13, 2008

Yep, the first thing I heard today when I left the house, well half way to rehearsals, was Arcoiris, yeah that’s Spanish for Rainbow, and how nice it was to hear someone yell that!

It was a lovely day, woke up and started making pasties, then got distracted with online dating, yeah it’s been my latest distraction, that takes up a ton of time! I had a cup of coffee and cleaned up most of my room(amazing what a stimulant will do in the right quantities!) I finally unpacked from Fire Island and found these moldy dance shoes, kinda felt like I was cultivating some mini Cherry Grove forest on the soles of my shoes!

Then I rode to Soho where I rehearsed with the Animal Crackers, but on the way I passed what appeared to be a block party, it even had a pony, the kids seemed so happy and when I rode through everyone looked, I thought,” how fun would it be to hop off my bike and do some funny dancing for these kids? They would love it!” Then I go to thinking about a couple of profiles I’ve seen online that said,”they say you dress like the kind of job you want.” So should I start thinking about joining the circus? Not a bad idea, I already get paid for being funny! This is what I wore today

Life is good! Well at rehearsals were Lea’s parents who rode the length of the Erie canal, how wonderful is that!! I do love riding my bike, it’s so good for you! And then after dinner, someone yelled,”Hey Rainbow Bright” and I smiled!

One week ago today I was at a BBQ and I learned how to say rainbow in French, “un arc-en-ciel.” And low and behold our lovely host Miriam sent me some pictures from the BBQ last week! Pictured below, Amy, Pinkie, George, and me.
